Whether you’re skating for the first time or the millionth time, it’s important to follow certain roller skating etiquette tips to ensure a good time for everyone. Take a look at four simple tips to follow to keep everyone happy:
Follow the Flow of Traffic
Although there aren’t any stoplights or stop signs at roller skating rinks, there is definitely a flow of traffic that should be respected. Normally, people start skating a certain way around the rink. If you choose to go against the flow of traffic, an accident may occur.
Give Other Skaters Space
To avoid bumping into others, give your friends and the other skaters around you plenty of space. Also, respect the skaters who are in the middle of the rink practicing roller skating tricks. If you have the need for speed, stick to the outskirts of the rink and continue with the traffic.
Check Your Skates Before Skating
When your laces are tight and your wheels are secure, you will be able to skate with confidence! So, before stepping onto the rink, check your skates to make sure they are safe. This will help you avoid any unnecessary accidents and/or injuries.
Have a Great Time
Laughter and smiles are contagious. (We know because we see it happen all the time at Skate World Pasadena!) So, when you’re here, have fun! You will get a great workout, spend time with friends, and enjoy racing around the rink.
