If there’s one thing parents are tired of by the end of the holiday season, it’s spending money! The average US parents spend over $300 on gifts every year–per child. By now that’s probably no big surprise to you. Now that winter break is right around the corner, how can parents keep kids busy without further breaking the bank?
That’s where Skate World Pasadena comes in, with our guide to a budget-friendly winter break. Check out our ideas:
- Movie Night. Who says the movies have to be expensive? Dress up in your holiday best, whether fancy, comfy, or festive, gather on the couch with popcorn, cookies, and hot cocoa, and take in a family-friendly Christmas classic like How the Grinch Stole Christmas, The Muppet Christmas Carol, or your family’s favorite.
- Volunteer! Check out some ideas here.
- Write/Decorate Letters. Writing to grandparents, aunts and uncles, and other far-away friends is a thoughtful, sweet way to pass some time. Kids who can’t write yet can help parents compose a message, then decorate the paper with stickers, glitter, and more. Be sure to include pictures and any small trinkets that kids want to send. Include letters with gift packages, or send them on their own for extra holiday cheer.
And don’t forget our favorite activity: Go Skating! Sometimes you just need to escape the house for a bit. Skate World Pasadena is open extended hours during the holiday break, so next time you and your family are getting stir-crazy, come visit us! Cheapskate Tuesday is only $3 per person, which includes skate rentals.
