As technology and automation continue to bring the country and the world into the future, it has never been more important to give our youth the advantages that learning science, technology, engineering and math can offer. Recently, though, the United States has fallen off in science and math with a ranking of 27th in the world. Because of this slide, our education system has decided to step it up with STEM.
At Skate World in Deer Park, Texas, we couldn’t be prouder to be part of the STEM program. Using skating to showcase STEM curriculum lessons is super cool and we can’t wait to keep it going. This November 8th is National STEM Day and you better believe we’ll be celebrating at Skate World.
If you’re looking to schedule a field trip with your school and need a venue that provides a connection to the STEM curriculum, we’d love to hear from you!
Our STEM field trips cover all the big ideas while still letting the students have a great time exploring the practical uses of physics. Check out some the key concepts you can expect to be covered at on a Skate World STEM field trip
- Three Laws of Motion
- Sir Isaac Newton
- Forces (centrifugal force, radial force, and friction)
- Balance vs. Counter Balance
- Solar System movement
- Earth’s rotation and orbit
- Physics-based mathematics
There’s never a bad time to bring your class in for learning and fun at Skate World. So, if you missed the sign up for National STEM day, don’t worry! We’re happy to book your class trip anytime throughout the school year. Give us a call and find out more about what we have to offer the next generation of leaders and innovators.
